To Demetrius. (361) We enjoy your company no less than you yourselves do, thanks to these frequent attendants [messengers]. And you seem to me to be vexed even at these trees with their splendid fruit, because they are unwilling, once brought here and set in the ground when their branches are weighed down, to do the same for you. But let those things bear fruit in your country -- in any case their offspring is ours too. As for the two speeches [arguments], I now realized that I had written nothing clear. So I set it right: let it be known that it is the property of Palladius, and you will either, having given it, make a copy once you have received it, or you will give it once you have made a copy.
