Letter 3005: Item ad Felicem episcopum ex nomine suo

V Likewise, to Bishop Felix, in his own name [in the bishop's own person] Faithful salvation of your homeland, Felix [the name means "happy"] in hope, in name, and in heart, you by whose radiance the order of priests gleams: you restore to these lands what the public laws were demanding, bringing to our times the joys of old. Voice of the nobles, light of your lineage, defense of the common people, you ward off shipwreck here where you, the harbor, are present. An apostolic champion, overcoming the laws of Britain, secure amid adversities, with the hope of the Cross you put weapons to flight. Live on, glory of your homeland, light of the faith, author of honor, splendor of bishops, and the love of us and of the world.
