He commends the legates who have been sent, that they may be assisted in their task before the emperor. p. 1 Hormisdas. Letter 79. Since it has been necessary for our writings to be sent to our lord and son, the most clement prince, we could not pass over Your Greatness in silence. And therefore, prefacing our words with the honor of a greeting, we commend those who have been appointed to the matter, requesting that, with our Lord as their author, under your arrangement they may swiftly arrive at the things appointed: so that the most sacred and most religious emperor may be able, without delay, to learn the glory of their merits.
