27. ENNODIUS TO SENARIUS. May a recompense, by reason of the dispensation from on high, attend the abundance of your good conscience: may the Most High render, in return for my littleness, what he recognizes to have been bestowed by you, who have always shown yourselves faithful to those who love you. The diligence of your heart is a sure harbor that has found its haven: you are endowed with such a manner of life that you surpass the hope of your friends by the conferring of a benefit. I desire a second reminder, so that I may take up the journey enjoined upon me: give your favorable right hand to my humility, and share your prosperous fortunes with me. My lord, presenting the dutiful services of my greeting, I ask that, if the lord of affairs shall happily be staying at Ravenna, you make it known, so that I may carry out your instructions without any uncertainty.

XXVII. ENNODIVS SENARIO. Vber conscientiam uestram pro superna dispensatione uicissitudo comitetur: reddat pro paruitate mea altissimus quod agnoscit a uobis, qui semper amantibus fideles extitistis, fuisse conlatum. certus portus est pectoris uestri inuenisse diligentiam: estis hac conuersatione praediti, ut amicorum spem beneficii conlatione uincatis. secundam admonitionem desidero, ut iniunctum iter adripiam: date felicem dexteram humilitati meae et prospera mecum uestra diuidite. domine mi, salutationis obsequia praesentans quaeso, ut si rerum dominus apud Rauennam feliciter commorabitur indicetis, quatenus sine ambiguo praecepta uestra perficiam.
