Bishop Avitus to Bishop Victorius. Because you had obtained, by God's favor, prosperous beginnings of the festival, you have also visited them with your affection. For while you both show your accustomed care for us and announce concerning your own well-being the things that accord with our prayers, you at once offer what we rejoice over and demand what we owe. May Christ grant an abundant supply of this very devotion and graciousness of yours, by which, through the twofold gift of your teaching office, your elders may be strengthened by the benefit of your solicitude, and those who come after may be instructed by the example of your charity.
