Claudius Tiberianus sends very many greetings to Longinus Priscus, his lord and patron. You know very well how I left you. The next lines are badly damaged, but the sense is that I expected to come to you more quickly. When I brought my things with me to Alexandria, I found that the boats had already sailed, and I did not sell the item in question. So know, my lord, that I am now in Alexandria. If I find a chance, I hope to come to you soon. I ask you, my lord, please be good enough to write back and tell me where you are stationed, so that I can find you there quickly. I will bring by boat what is being given to you, and the letter that Sempronius Clemens, the frumentarius [a military courier and intelligence officer], is going to send to you on my behalf. I also found at his place, through careful searching and good luck, the two letters you wanted, and I have sent them to you sealed. I ask you, my lord, about the rest of the matter, though the papyrus breaks off here. I have prepared ten wooden staves. Claudius, my son, sends you frequent greetings. May you be well, my lord.
