Letter 241: Constantius praises Cyriacus for sending letters despite believing Constantius had been silent.

In this too I admired your warm, genuine, and unwavering love. Through it you showed that you care deeply for us not only when we are present, but also when we are absent. You said that we had not written to your Honor, yet even that was not enough to make you silent. Although you thought we had kept silence, you sent us three letters. In fact, we had written once, twice, three times, many times. Both things were shown well: your love, which did not need letters from us, and our own good will. So now that you know how we feel toward your Honor, and that you overflow with the chief of all goods, the bond of perfection [love], give us this joy generously. However many letters we receive, even if they are many, we never grow tired of them, because your affection toward us is so strong.

ΣΜΑʹ. Τοῦ αὐτοῦ πρὸς Κυριακὸν πρεσβύτερον. Καὶ ἐν τούτῳ ἐθαύμασά σου τὴν ἀγάπην τὴν θερμὴν, καὶ γνησίαν, καὶ ἀκλινῆ, δι' ἧς ἔδειξας, ὅτι οὐ παρόντων ἡμῶν, ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀπόντων πολὺν ποιῇ λόγον.
